Craniosacral Therapy
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hand on approach that grew out of the work of osteopathic physician Dr. John E. Upledger in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It focuses on supporting the craniosacral system, the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord.
Using a light touch (about the weight of a nickel), CST practitioners help release tension and ease restrictions in this system. Many people find that this supports overall nervous-system function and promotes a sense of balance throughout the body, including areas like digestion, the musculoskeletal system, breathing, and circulation. CST is also often used to support people dealing with stress, trauma, anxiety, and other emotional or somatic patterns.
By encouraging the body’s natural healing processes, CST is increasingly chosen as a gentle, preventive, and restorative therapy. It may be helpful for people seeking support with a wide range of health challenges and symptoms, including:
Migraines/Headaches
